Pregnancy visits, before the birth of your baby, will be individually itemised and charged through Medicare.
The out of pocket i.e. your contribution will be registered with safety net.
Hospital visits, the birth of your baby (including Caesarean Section) and post-birth care for the first five days in hospital are fully covered by your health fund. It will be charged directly to your health fund.
You have to register with Medicare for safety net.
To qualify for a safety net repayments your billing has to exceed your threshold and Medicare needs a proof that you paid you bills.
Your out of pocket cost ' your contribution' depends on your safety net threshold and the health fund you are insured with.
Fees are paid in instalments, however; full payment is required before the birth of your baby.
